Britannic

The Doomed Hospital Ship

The Liner that Never Entered Service

Britannic was to be the third, and largest liner of the Olympic Class, and was well on her way to completion and her maiden voyage, but something went wrong. Or, rather many things went extremely wrong; the outbreak of the first World War. Britannic, being a new, large, and capable ship was drafted into the war before she was even finished, her fine, luxurious fittings ripped out, and she became a hospital ship. Now, this should have kept her safe, hospital ships would help the wounded of both sides of a battle, and therefore, were not targets. But Britannic would sink, not by attack, but by accident. She struck a mine of the island of Kea in the mediterranean and sank in the channel, taking 30 lives with her.
